The information we collect and how this may be used

We offer a free newsletter which you can subscribe to. Certain functionality of our website might require us to keep temporary information for the active "session". This information is collected and also stored as a "cookie" on your computer's hard drive for record-keeping purposes. The use of cookies is standard and can enhance your use of a site by helping us to identify forms you filled and checkboxes which haven been clicked. Most web browsers allow you to disable the automatic acceptance of cookies if you so wish. However you may not be able to take advantage of all the features of our website if you do so.

We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, for example by order of a court.

Information provided to third parties

If you opt-in into our newsletter, we will ask for a name and an email address plus password. The name is used to be able to communicate with you with proper manners – which means we can actually send you an email that starts with a personalised greeting instead of just using a generic greeting. The password is used to log you into your account. Also, emails will contain links to graphics which your email program might load automatically. For our newsletters, we are using a technology partner, MailChimp, which will store this data for us. Unlike us, MailChimp is based in the United States of America. This means that your data, your name and email address, will be stored on an American server. As per our agreement with MailChimp, this company can not use your data freely. It is used to fulfill their service – sending out newsletters on our behalf. Please note MailChimp does add tracking pixels, which will allow the system to see if an email has been delivered or opened. You should be aware that data protection laws in the US are less strict than in the EU. Every newsletter, like this one, comes with an opt-out link at the end of every email. This information is never used for anything else.
